Britt, I wouldn't characterize my edit as better, just different and emphasizes different parts of the image. If you want to keep the feeling of the side of a hill, then your edit has that feeling which mine has lost. I just thought it would be fun to share two different edits which make slightly different statements. Thanks. -Michael

Britt, I'm copying your comment on my edit over to this challenge gallery so that others will see it.

Britt's comment:

Thanks for working with it. I do like this one. The reason I had kept it the way it was, is that she was actually sitting tilted on a hill. But, I guess when the viewer looks at it, they don't know that, so this is probably better, isn't it?
Thanks again, Michael. :)

Actually, I like this image so much that I grabbed a copy and tried out my suggestions. I sincerely hope you won't be offended and you can see my suggestions here: http://www.pbase.com/mtpuff/image/59768748

Oh, cloning grass just above/around her hair was a bit tricky. If you set the clone tool's mode to "Darken", grass will be cloned over the light grey walk but won't touch her hair since her hair is darker than the grass.

Again, I hope I haven't overstepped my bounds. Please feel free to delete this comment if you prefer. -Michael

The hat is fabulous and so is that tree background. (*)While I like this shot, I think it could be a bit stronger with some of the bottom cropped so that the lady was closer to the bottom of the frame. I would also think about rotating it clockwise just a bit and cloning out the grey line of the walk just above her head. OK, OK, I'm really not trying to pick it apart...I think of those as minor changes which would simplify the photo and make it so much stronger. -Michael
