This is great! Incidentally, I was in Marin County last Saturday. As I was driving home on the Richmond bridge in order to avoid the Golden Gate toll, I realized that I should have taken the Golden Gate so that I could take a night shot for this challenge. The next day, you posted this photo. There's no way I could top this, so I'm glad I saved the toll.

I have to agree with all the positive comments, but also think it looks even better without the frame. I remember my first visit to San Francisco, it must have been in 1987 or 1988. I'd just gotten my first SLR (an Olympus OM-2S) and I only had one lens, a 50. I saw a post card from Steiner Street with the victorian houses in the foreground and the TransAmerica building (correct?) in the background. I wanted to take a similar picture so we found Steiner St. and I realised I needed a long tele-lens to get what I was after - disappointing...

Well, db, I'm a huge fan of frames so normally I would say no. However, our hosts have worked hard on the new gallery style sheet (which I think is excellent) so I've uploaded a new version without the frame.
Thanks Cindy, db, and Traveller...this is actually the culmination of 2 years location scouting for me. I finally found the location where the Transamerica pyramid wasn't behind the bridge tower, got a clear night without fog, and hit the right time of day where I knew there would be wonderful color. -Michael
