Overcome*

Entropy: The natural phenomenon by which all systems decay towards disorder.

This one is the natural analogue of "Lost Time" in the Eligible gallery. I took it as one of the first assignments in my B&W photography class. At the time I felt very much like the central subject.

I thought that as I was taking the picture, that I was breaking a rule. I wanted something like a swirling vortex of destruction around this innocent little thing, and I think it came out as I'd hoped with the exception of missing the DOF in the upper left quadrant. The scan is pretty bad, as the original neg has some wonderful detail on the petals of the central flower that were lost, and the chevrons on the clovers are much more pronounced as well. Some day I'll pop on over to a good scanning place and have a few of my faves drum-scanned. Anyway, I'm axiously awaiting your off-centre view though, I can't see how it could be done.

Ok, Jason, let's try this again, since you asked. :) This has potential, however, the rule is to never center your subject unless you've got a dang good reason. Here, my eyes lock on the white flower and don't wander. When I pry them off, they pop over to the 3 leaf clover to the right of the flower, but then snap back to the white flower. I'll post, in the thread, what I would have done with the image - not that it's necessarily the right way, just my way! LOL! ~ Lonnit
