Oh the irony - this shot looks cleaner and neater! LOL! ~ Lonnit

Thanks Shu! As ashamed I am to admit it, the file was too large. The originally posted version was made from a small jpeg-original. This version is made from the raw-file, developed pretty much as shot, but I increased the white-balance 150 Kelvin and set the saturation to +25% instead of 0 in ACR. Looks even better now, imho. Previous version of this can be seen here:http://www.pbase.com/olafdk/image/54570547

Beautiful image, Olaf! Just another example of disorder that contains patterns and elements of order. This is symmetry in discord! LOL shu

Jim and Sharon - thanks!
Lonnit - I did touch on chaos theory in my education and found a lot of natural patterns (fractals and others) to be part of it. Apparently the host is on the same track:http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1019&message=16912453 , so perhaps it is you - girl - who is too fastidious if you don't consider this chaos ;-)

Perhaps it is a load of nature's mess, but, Jim, the leaves themselves are not chaotic - they have a very precise structure. The snowflakes, as well, have their precise crystaline structure. Even the grass, in every blade being so like the next, is not chaotic. The leaves are even neatly arranged in a triangular shape. One's eyes fall upon the page and start circulating thru the leaves. I find the image to be circular and soothing, not chaotic.

Now I'll be attacked for being the rule police - sigh. I'm just actually trying to figure out what would really qualify as chaos - well, err.... other than my desk! But that's not a very pretty picture! LOL!

Olaf, perhaps you are too fastidious if you think this is chaos! LOL! ;) Lovely image. ~ Lonnit

Olaf, that's perfect for the theme! It shows chaos on a number of levels. The leaves themselves, the arrangement of the leaves, the frost crystals.... everything. And man, you're fast :) Excellent. Jim H.
