Imagine that. If all the birds were NOT sitting on the same wire. That would be great too - it would look like a sheet of music. How appropriate would that be in a song title challenge? Imagine that!

I love the way the point of view has all of the wires compressed together. The birds obviously prefer the upper ground wire to the lower high tension lines. Was that the way they all roosted, or did some of them sit on the lower wires with the high voltage on them? In any case, I love this shot. Jim H.

Very nice, Cat. Like the graphic effect and minimalism here. Agree, it will make a great CD cover.

Thank you guys for your comments. Thanks for the suggestions and observations too...
Grant, Hwulex: They are actually facing south. The angle in which this shot is taken might have something to do why they appear upside down. Here are some links which might help in understanding this:

Someone had told me once that you can tell the direction of the wind based on which direction the starlings are facing when they sit. (Victor, our walking encyclopedia can tell us if its true or not)

Funny you should say that Grant, I thought the same thing. ~Hwulex

It would even be a great CD cover for the song itself! :)

Nice one...

Haha, brilliant, I love it! A perfect match of photo and song title. The picture itself is great too, the expanse of bold blue colour (this would probably have done well in the last challenge!), then the focal point at the bottom. The additional parallel lines really add something too. ~Hwulex
