Oops--forgot to ID myself in the "bad kitty" comment. I can't seem to find the way to supplant the "cslr_challenge" with "Lew". Oh well, I can't find my car keys either. .. Lew

Bad kitty! But we should all send little Spot a ball of catnip for giving us such a delightful opportunity to laugh, and to marvel at the good luck and skill that brought about this image. Research has shown that, though cats aren't really color-blind, they apparently don't give a hoot about color...so whatever is going on in Spot's mind, it's probably not about being on-topic. Good cat-ch, good work, Jim!

Thanks everyone. This is just one shot, not cropped, just adjustment of the black and white points in DPP and then resized and a bit of USM applied in Paint Shop Pro. Those are water drops and the yellowish highlight is from an overhead light competing with the flash. Spot is a very playful kitty but incredibly sweet. No kitties were harmed in the shooting of this photo :) Jim H.

Oh no! I hope he didn't cut his paws on the glass. I love this and I specially love it cos it has a cat in it.

Very nice. Color, clarity, and a partially-told story as well. Top notch. --Mr. Biscuit

This is just awesome. Absolutely superb! I'd love to see the 'setup' for this image, or at least the story as to how it came about! ~Hwulex

OMG! This is fantastic! The image that the cat 'got in the way of' is superb... so great, in fact, that the cat was mesmerize by it - stunned by the amazing site he caused when he knocked down the ornament that hit the glass of water and spilled it! The fact that we are trying to look over the cat's shoulder, to see around him, makes him almost not part of the image, although he's actually essential to it. The fact that he is black and white - neither of which are colors - does not interfere with the dominant theme of RED.

The little yellowish highlight, coming off his ear... is that a highlight on the ball, or on the tip of the ear fur? It's radience adds such a dimension of surrealism! The composition is utterly outstanding! Flawless, really! This image makes me ache in my inabilty to come up with something so brilliantly creative. I'm awed. I'm impressed. I'm actually teary-eyed! ~ Lonnit

OMG, Jim, this is fabulous! Are those falling drops in the upper left? Was this put together in PS or was it actually taken "on site" and all of a piece? Really great work in either case! ~Sharon
