Victor, it's a real test for me to actually find words to describe why I love this image, but I'll give it a go since you've asked a fair question. I love the extreme simplicity of composition and find it very satisfying. While it is essentially a simple line within a rectangle, the line has tension created by the small 90 degree bend and the individual parts which make up the pipe. The background has not been burned out and retains textural interest. Other than those elements which I can describe, I suppose it comes down to personal taste. -Michael

Thanks, all, for the comments! Except Lonnit. Just kidding. Actually, Lonnit, I've been surprised at the response to this image, too. I chose it from my many minimalist photos because after I posted it on Flickr it immediately was "favorite-ed" by 2 people. I figured something about it has appeal to people. I've always liked this photo, so I'm glad others do, too, since it isn't the type of photo that I expect people to respond to at all. That makes me happy! bee1000

Yeesh - I had one just like this yesterday, with a light switch at the bottom, in grey, and I trashed it. I didn't like it - and I don't like this - yet it's getting raves! You know, I've seen stuff in magazines that looked like stuff I've shot and trashed! Ugh.... maybe I've thrown a million bucks in the trash! LOL! ~ Lonnit
