Thanks, Paul! This is the way I took the picture, although, I must admit, not on purpose. I am a little slow on the trigger finger! But I liked the shot enough when I reviewed the day's shots to keep it. I did think about trimming the track a bit but I was trying to keep the horses out of the center of the image. It doesn't exactly conform to the rule of thirds (except for the horses themselves which are in thirds!) but it is close. I think if I were to trim anything I would trim the greenery at the top a bit to get the image closer to those thirds. Thanks for your comments! ~Sharon

I live in the Albany area (just south of Saratoga) and produce the Times Union web site, so I see a LOT of photos from Saratoga each August, and it is extremely rare to see a fresh angle in a racetrack photo. But you did it, and so wonderfully. Did you get the idea for this crop from the challenge topic, or is this the way you took the photo? Either way, it is wonderful work. Only change I might make (or at least try) if it were mine is a bit of a trim at the bottom, making it more panoramic with a bit less dirt track.

Interesting framing. What is missing of the horse to the left we see on the horse to the right and vice versa. To see how perfectly this is true, I tried shifitng the photo 300 pixels to the right - amazing! (I'm NOT suggesting you change this). Well done!
