What makes up the charm of this great image is mood, light, color and composition.

In reply to Rob's comment: I don't think it is the person t hat makes it tilt. Looking at the verticals I think this could be rotated ever so slightly clockwise, but I think the main reason why this feels tilted is that the line between shadow and light at the bottom is not horizontal. That fools the eye, so to speak. Nonetheless, it is a lovely shot with fantastic lighting, colors, textures and patterns.

Actually, after looking some more and have a little tinker (hope you don't mind - I needed to find out why the image looked off balance). It would seem to be the first shadow - if you straighten that first line of shadow it helps to balance the shot.

Very nice shot Vikas I agree with all the nice comments below, * but from the moment I saw this I kept feeling like it was off balance. The only thing wrong with this shot for me is the balance, the man just tips it over to the left too much. Looking at the patterns and framing this is a composition that requires equilibrium. What do you think?

It's a lovely image (as usual from you) so looking at it and exploring the details is a pleasure. :) ~ Lonnit

Thanks Lonnit. :-) I suspect that being quite a few centuries old, this building may actually have sagged due to the ground being soft (its on the banks of the Yamuna River) and maybe due to the innumerable small earthquakes too. Or it was during renovation at some stage? Dont really know...... thanks for looking at it in such detail and your comments. Really appreciate it.

Cheers, Vikas.

Better - but is the building itself warped? Check this out...scroll the image down so the furthest boards in the front are at the top edge of your screen - level, right? Now the fiirst "bridge" in the middle and its handrail. Level, right? Now the second handrail... it's sagging down on the left. Now the pointed tops of the the two doorways that flank the center one. Level, again, right? Now the header beam about a foot over the doorways - sags way down on the left, as do all the horizontal lines from that point up! It's like only the upper half of the image needs to be dragged up on the left side. How the heck can that be? Very strange!! LOL! ~ Lonnit

I definitely need L lenses (which is "only" a matter of money) and the talent of Mikas (which obviously is priceless) ~Armin

Thanks Larry. This is the entrrance to one of the pvt chambers for the Emperor at the Red Fort, New Delhi.
Thanks Lonnit for pointing out the perspective correction required. Have worked on it some more. Is it any better? Thanks.
Thanks Autumn Sky.
Thanks Ann, yes the bridges are actually over a water way (with the fountain in the middle) which was used as a cooling arrangement a few centuries ago.
Thanks Alex/Bruce, appreciate it.
Cheers, Vikas.

This had to be an extraordinary challenge for exposure. Super color balance too. Well done! -- Bruce Jones

Beautiful light and perspective

Beautiful Vikas. I'm interested in the series of bridges across this long gap. Is there a special significance to this layout? Beautiful shapes and colors and the man really makes the composition. Ann C

Beautiful setting ... perfectly lit. The model brings life to this image. I really like the deep dof here.

Lovely shot. Did you try to do some PS work to remove the perspective distortion? It looks like you went to far; the colums, particularly on the left, are leaning outwards towards the top, and the whole image looks a bit twisted. ~ Lonnit

WOW, the gold tones are beautiful. What is this an entrance to? Larry
