I don't know what Chris was talking about, I don't see any spots;) What I was talking about the DOF might be off, I am just a little distracted by the sharp focus of the curled under fingers, pulls some attention from the vase and highlight. Chris

This is a great entry Phil. Nice job and "pointing" out the gold with that brilliance. :-)

My only nit is that I think this would be more effective if the background was a solid color...white. I see a distracting line that curves around the gold jewelry (?). Now granted, my work monitor sucks so maybe it's just me that see it. :-)

What spots? (No, it wasn't stupid of you to point them out, I noticed them afterwards but had to go out...).
The DOF? I see what you're saying, but the jury remains out on that... a tighter crop (to keep only the 1 finger in) doesn't work.

What, did you guys talk before hand? ;P The highlight is cool, but I think that the depth of field is distracting, with the hand out of focus, but the bent fingers in focus. Also, and maybe this is stupid, but the little spots on the white background could be cloned out in my opinion, as small as they are they distract me (top left corner two dots, just above the golden vase left side by the curve of the bg, and the one inbetween the hand and the vase). Some people might think that I am silly for mentioning them but in a setup shot it is important to take care of all the details which you should have control of. Chris

WOW Phil, that was quick. Full points for the earliest entry ever and a cool idea as well. Cheers, Vikas.
