Wow. Great shot! The composition is wonderful. The tones in the clouds are fantastic.

Elegantly flawless...it just gets better with every viewing. -Michael

Please share B&W conversion technique. The results are similar to a somewhat extreme approach to Channel Mixer (i.e. negative values in some channels)that I seen. Do tell. The effect is utterly striking. Nice.

Damn right...
Guest 19-Aug-2005 16:59
Great concept and beautiful B&W conversion. Well done as always.

Iso, you need to wait until the *end* of the challenge to crush our hope. ;)

Sigh..... why do I even own a camera? If people like you are supposed to inspire me, why do I feel so depressed?

My, but that field just goes on forever!

This is absurdly good. You know you don't really WIN anything in these challenges, right? bee1000

It has to be said I am rather fond of this time of year. Quite a few of these fields are an easy drive for me and when the cloud formations are there I try and get out as soon as I can. They seem to be taking in the bales quicker this year due to damp conditions. In fact this field was being cleared while we were shooting and will now be empty but there are plenty of other fields to be harvested yet. I'll try to post the PP details of this pic sometime soon.

Gayle - I was about to ask the same question! I think iso has exclusive rights to hay bales shots in the UK!
Grrr... iso raises the bar again...

Yes, I wanted to ask Kelly's qestion also, but was too embarrassed. I saw this image just minutes after it was posted...but didn't comment because as often with an iso image, I was globsmacked and at a loss for words.

But now that Kelly has broken the ice, just what were your processing steps...if you don't mind...(smile). Best Wishes, Traveller

I knew it was an ISOpic from the thumb. Great sky and implied action of your son running thru the field. The black outfit really adds to the shot.

Awesome sky, a classic Isopic. Does that farmer leave his hay bales there all year so you can use them in your photos?

Didn't need to open to know it was an isopic. Great shot and b/w-conversion! --Olaf.dk

Excellent! Love the contrast and the feeling of perspective.

Very, very nice. I like dramatic sky and the central composition. Is it taken at 15mm?
