I might just mentioned that this is almost the same as a photograph taken by an iminent photographer from my area who has achieved world wide recognition and publication for his efforts.
The main difference is the colour and the setting up of the shot which he took more to the left and included the lamp posts and railing running down the centre.

This is a great shot, I can see it again and again. Well done.

A really lovely piece, nice perspective, magical colors. -Michael

You are right I noted the violets and as I have never printed this before I went ahead and built a profile with printfix for my hp7960 and my Canoni9950 which ended with disasterous results.I disgarded the profiles and used my usual profile and ended up with colours more intense than my monitor but still not matching it exactly.

I've got the lovely pinks and violets here too and I just Spyder2Pro'd mine as well. SUCH a lovely shot! ~ Lonnit

Idem, I see the same on my monitor, namely magenta/violet cast. It is nothing wrong with this if you wanted it, in fact it adds a cool and surreal touch

Hi, TB, I was going to say how much I maybe liked this one better than the B&W entered in the other contest. This one is very, very vivid on my 19" Sony....maybe not callibrated with a Spyder, but still good enough because I do my large printing at a lab and, uncorrected, my printing is fine.

More than pink, I'm seeing magenta and colors on the violet end of the spectrum.

Still, it's a lovely image. Best Wishes, Traveller

I just had a look at this on my son's uncalibrated monitor and the colours are quite intense.
I use Spyder pro2 to calibrate my own monitor and the colours are nowhere near as intense , so I guess it depends on your settings as the only pink cast I can see apart from the sky is lightly on the water and the promenade.

Very nicely composed. I wonder where the color comes from
