9th Place - Colors of Flight
by Michael Soo

The interesting part of the image for me isn't about the texture or the lines.
Rather, how in heaven does the yellow feathers become blue all at the _RIGHT_
location to form a line!!! That's just freaking amazing to me what nature is
capable of.

Absolutely stunning, Michael!! The lighting adds just the right amount of accent to the feather details. Beautiful!! -- Jeannie Burleson (jburly)

Beautiful with great comments, too! I've always wondered who paints the frost designs on windows ? They are often in a fern patterns, too. (How did "they" do it??) Shu

Nice small paterns of feather texture with broad strokes of color pattern. Well seen, indeed. -Michael

I've always wondered the same thing-- how in the world does nature know where to add the yellow and the blue, in exactly the right places. Love the image-- just beautiful. --Nancy/odigi

Michael; a wondeful image. I recommend anything by Richard Dawkins to further fuel your wonder of nature and perhaps find a few answers. Not an easy read for anyone of a religious nature though. Perhaps The Selfish Gene to start with.
