This is a Butterfly wing, designed presumably, so that Butterflies can find each other. This was taken in the Amazon, on the Road to Moju from Belem`, along the mighty Rio Tocantins. Needless to say, such brightness stands out in the stygian darkeness of the Jungle. (I have updated this image to include the entire Butterfly, instead of just the wing. First, it's a better image this way, and I do also love the patterns in the Butterfly's eyes.)
