On the other hand, the detail of the lashes and the clarilty of the drop are wonderful elements. I think it is a *good* image, but a bit... off.

The orientation doesn't matter, but you expect water to flow down, so having the tear appear to run towards the tip fo the nose rather than seeming to go down the cheek is unusual.

Mikel, thanks again for leaving your comments, appreciate it. I personally don't see the image as flat but agree it can be improved upon. Being a such closeup and the subject of the matter I don't think the orientation of the subject really matters?

Perhaps it's the blur. The tear almost looks like it is on the surface of a flat image, rather than on the face. And the direction it is travelling makes it unclear as to the subject's orinetation with the world.

Hi Mikel. Thanks for your comments :) Is it the blur or tone of the photo? it's a single photo nothing else has been added from another.
