I was taking photos of a weathered shed in Middlebury, on a nice sunny day with snow on the ground, when I saw this blown-over small pine shrub, surrounded by windblown snow. The position it was lying in seemed communicate the sense of losing out to an overwhelming struggle against the wind and snow.
