I think a bare shoulder would have too much light; the top breaks it up nicely and continues the natural frame of the border. As-is is good.

I agree - nice photo! As I am looking at and analyzing it, I am debating with myself about her clothing: would it be better all bare or with the shoulder clothed as well? No I don't think so, the bright shoulder is essential to the composition and all bare would start to tilt the balance in the shot. Conclusion: the amount of clothing and its dark tone are both an essential part of the success of this composition. Anybody else have an opinion about that? --Olaf.dk

What a great shot, for all the reasons mentioned previously, and a beautiful model.

Now, THIS image cropped so near the face is ACTUALLY good! The reason is that one get to feel that she is leaning against the frame and hence, creating a imaginary frame itself. I like the harse lighting that cuts off at the shadow of the left part of her face as it serves as a boundary for the eye to not travel beyond the image. Good job!
