I only drink white.. i would love to try some reds but I prefer a sweet wine, which is why I stick to Chenin blanc, White Zin, White Cab-Sav, White merlot.. If you know any sweet reds.. fill me in.. :D
My first acquaintance with Beringer, was when my employer gave some bottles to each of its employees for Christmas some years ago (Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, I forget what year). It was a very good wine, so when I was in the neighborhood of Napa a year later, I went to the winery and took the $5 tour which included wine tasting. I was disappointed - didn't really care that much for any of the wines we tasted, although I remember one of the white ones was pretty good. I concluded that both the tour and the wine was over-priced. I found Wine-tasting to be more rewarding in the neighboring Sonoma County - it was always free and I did come across a few very good wines. But to be perfectly honest, I seem to always prefer Italian and sometimes Spanish Red wines. --Olaf
