Noel,
Great work on the framing!

Hi Anna,

I'm sorry for the miscue; I had missed the part about how the photo had to be actually taken in the challenge period. This one is a few months old, so seems to be in the right place now.

Noel I'm very sorry I didn't see this earlier, but you need a date on this for the Eligible. Please correct that and replace this picture before the voting starts!

Thanks very much all, and hi Julio. :)

I actually did submit an image to the "vertigo" competition some time ago. Looks like a fun bunch with some really beautiful images to share!

Very nice job with the framing of the flower!

Nice to see you here, Noel... and a cat for your first entry...imagine that! :) Great job with the 3D frame as well... It's something I like playing with occasionally - easy to do but hard to do well. Here's my best try so far:

Stunning image with very skillful use of framing and selective focus.

This is brilliant framing work. One thing I notice is that the lighting around the matboard cuts is reversed from what I would expect. This makes the picture stick out 3-dimensionally rather than be recessed like it would normally. That, combined with the shadow of the towel, and the perfectly executed boundery around the cat's paw and face makes for a stunning illusion that the cat is actually leaning out of the frame.

This picture brilliantly suits the theme because the frame serves to mark where the edge of the depth of field is. Everything that appears to be in front of the frame is in focus. Everything else is blurred. -- Victor
