Yes, I'm sure it's the duotone or tritone. That is exactly what they do. -- Victor

Olaf,
Forgot to thank you for your reply, thanks a lot! I agree that the version I posted here is propably the best of the 3, although it makes the subject look about 10 years older... :)

Victor,
I can't really see what you described myself, but maybe it's due to the duotone, or maybe I used tritone, I can't remember, processed the image a while back.

Thanks again everyone for your kind comments!

It must be somewhat dependend upon viewing conditions, because I don't see it so much anymore. But basically, it's this. The highlights and shadows are both relatively neutral, compared to the midtones, which are more saturated yellow. If I take your picture and goose the saturation by about 65%, that exaggerates a little bit what I was seeing before. It looks fine now. -- Victor

Victor,

I didn't change anything, this is still the original image I posted here. What color shift are you talking about?
Victor Engel16-Oct-2004 13:07
Is this different from the original that was posted here? Because now I can think of something I'd change. I don't like the color shift at the terminator of the shadow. -- Victor

Arthur, I agree with your friend - this is the best version of the shot. Not that other ones are bad - just that this one is reallly great! --Olaf

Thanks Roberta and Victor for your comments!
I played with the blue channel to achieve a more dramatic effect, I have 2 other versions on my site: in color and a softer one .
I'm not sure which I like best myself, but my friend pictured likes the one I posted here best.

Excellent! I can't think of a thing to change about this. -- Victor
