Clean, polished, and professional. The contrast, both in luminosity and subject matter, plays extremely well here. I agree with prior comments about centering the focus on the stone, but I like the shallow DOF. So, if you were to re-shoot, only a modest shift. But: A high quality image as-is. --Joe

Thanks for the constructive comments Anna! I agree the stone is not completly in focus. I focused on the stalk of the leaf right in front of the stone. F4.0 gave a sharp focus half way through the stone like I wanted. I wish I could re-shoot this based on Vikas' and your idea. I left the leaf on the table after shooting it, unfortunately it's missing now! :(. - Karthik.

The leaf is like an umbrella, very nice arrangement. If you don't mind my comment, I would have preferred the focus on the stone, or a greater dof.

I love your work....I like the shallow DOF myself. Great Job!

Thanks for the constructive comment Vikas! Actually I've been trying to do some similar shallow DOF shots for an effect. My primary idea was to draw attention to a more minute section of already a miniture image. Apparently that didn't work in this image I guess! :) I am sure you know it's intentionaly created bokeh using shallow DOF.

Here is some of my previous work.

- Thanks, Karthik.

Great idea and a great simple image with the white background. Just one suggestion if you don't mind, I would reshoot this exactly the same (since the composition is perfect), with f/11 or f16 as the aperture to bring more of it in focus. Please feel free to delete this comment at your convenience. Cheers............ Vikas.
