I hard a hard time doing this shot with a slice of lemon dropping in a glass. Seeing this makes me want to try again. Especially as I now know the set up :-)
How I did it:
I took a very bright halogen light and pointed it on a glass vase from the side.
Dropped a irregular shaped ice cube into the water. It takes some time to get a good shot but with a bit patience you will get good results.
After every try you have to remove the drops from the vase to get a good look.
I placed a big white Paper in the background. The rest of the surrounding area was relatively dark.
Besides the very bright light you shurely have everything to create these kinds of pictures at home already.
Shot taken at ISO 400 and 1/4000s at F8.0
Preprocessing in Photoshop:
Adjusted colors to get a more monochromatic look. Some leveling too. And of course: some USM to get a clearer look.
