I actually prefer the compositional possibilities of the tall crop, but for it to work IMHO, the person needs to be highlighted. That would make three places for the eye to stop: the light, the end of the alley and the person, creating a triangle leading the viewer's eye through the scene. The wide crop just has a simple back and forth which doesn't interest me as much.

I like this one too, (and agree that there's a bit of an unfortunate tilt) but like the others, I much prefer the wide one.

Agree w/ iso - the wide version is better. Also, the alley looks tilted to the right a bit...

The alley has a great length and depth to it this way, but ultimately the wide version is better.
