I think centering is underrated! This is a great composition for this subject, because it focuses you directly on her instead of trying to create an overall scene that happens to have a person in it. I'm not 100% convinced that this is "negative space," because the background is so much a part of the picture, but I really like it.

Well, she was weeping, arms Outstretched in the next frame, unhappy because she couldn't get across the water to me....so you've gotta shoot what you can....and besides, with the land falling away quickly, you loose t he grotto effect if not centered....lost in the green. Best Wishes, Traveller

As I mentioned on Lydia's "Snow" image, I think this is an excellent example of non-void negative space. (I doubt that "non-void negative space" is a real term, I just don't know what to call it.) This is really quite charming and wonderful. -Michael
