It looked like one had closing to me and I know that makes a sound! I really would like to try something like this - great PP Alastair! CJ

My little sister would have said, "Greasy Midgets Take Asprin!"

Thanks Pops, though what does this have to do with the Georgia Motor Trucking Association? :) And thanks Nico and Jim.

Well, well, well! Full marks for creativity, for sure. You've certainly challenged my (few) brain cells with respect to what sound is (or is not)! Does the image stimulate one's audio receptor cells? I think the answer might be yes: namely to listen very very VERY carefully in case one is able to somehow hear that very unique "sound" :-) Kind regards Nico

GMTA! A tip of the Pops fedora for this shot. I was going to do something very similar and also planned on calling it "Zen." But I've already got six shots entered. I think this is fabulously on topic.

Thanks Sharon and Lydia. Yes, it's the sound of one hand clapping. The grain is on purpose. I used the Tri-X conversion in DXO filmpack with the Tri-X grain. I thought the stark and gritty look was apt for a Zen Koan.

Ok... But, still... I don't hear anything.

It's all ok with me if the rest of you do, though... The guys in white coats will see that you get help. *grin* ~Lydia

Yes, Lydia, I hear the sound of one hand clapping, don't you? :-) Try this link for a possible explanation:http://www.io.com/~snewton/zen/onehand.html Great concept, Alastair! Is the grain on purpose? ~Sharon

I'm sorry, Alastair. I don't 'hear' anything. Am I in the wrong challenge?

It's a cool shot, though. Does anyone else hear anything? ~Lydia
