The Many Sides of a Woman
by Lydia

This was my daughter's idea. She had many formal dresses from various occasions over the years. Before she left for college she suggested we do a shot of the many sides of her as a 'group' in my bathroom.

I find it interesting that one of her is glaring at the 'sexy' her... and at the 'too prim' her.

I could look at it for hours... not because it's a great work of art, but because it's a view into her mind and the struggles of us all against ourselves.

I hope you like it, too.

I really do not know which of your composites I like better: the one here showing your daughter(s) or the one in Eligible showing so many of yourself/selves: both are, anyway, fantastic IMO. Wonderful work: Congratulations! -- db.

LOL! Thanks, Kiki. We/she got the dresses after Prom time each year... each of them was only about $12. Good bargains to be had for the next year. ~lydia

Since I have a 5D Mark II and am playing with video these days, I'm spending some time watching other videos. I chanced upon this one, which is similar to this picture, so I thought I'd post it. Have fun watching. -- Victor

Thanks, folks! I glad you think she's pretty. *grin*

Trav, I realize that I wasn't really clear about how I did this... I opened all of the multiple documents in PS... then clicked and dragged them into one image (using the uppermost option on the list-- the arrow thingy). It automatically makes a separate layer out of each photo. Then, just make a mask on each layer. ~Lydia

Well, I always liked women, or so it has been rumored....all these women are her, as all women are, in their many moods...exactly her also.

Mix 'em all up in a blender and you've got...a woman.

Surprise.....lol

I just love this picture so much....because it's true.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Nicely done. Great, too, how she really seems to be looking at her other selves. The onein red and the one in pale green really seem to be annoyed by the snob in white. LOL! The one with her back to the wall on the right isn't all that happy with her either. The last one I noticed was the one looking out the door - but she's one of my favorites. I love that she's not involved with all the drama - my other favorite is the prettiest one - the one in grey. She's beautiful enough and self-confident enough to not bother with the drama either. Great story and great story shot. :) ~ Lonnit

What fun! I'd love to try this too. Your results are amazing! By the way, she has a nice formal wardrobe!!

Are you kidding? This is a great work of art. I also find myself spending lots of time reading this image. So many things to see: body language, dresses, what's she's doing. And the biggest bonus is that she's also a very attractive young lady.

Thanks, Trav! Obviously, you've had the same impression of not understanding a woman. *grin* I took several photos, layered them all into one image, using masks to get rid of the stuff I didn't want to show. ~Lydia

I Like it very, very much. Out of technical curiosity, just how does one do something like this? Obviously, lots of individual pictures, and then, stack them? But how? Sorry to trouble you with this in any busyness you might have...but what the heck, this is great, so why not ask? Best wishes, Traveller
