Hi there, hope you're well.
Messaging from New Zealand to do my bi-decade inquiry on your JW Black Clapton Strats.
I'm a big fan of early CS stuff, especially Clapton variations.
I have a similar Custom Clapton in Burgundy Mist with matching headstock.
Love the Red and Green versions you have and as always, interested if you're ever looking for someone who loves guitars as much as you, to purchase and cherish.
Kind regards,
Mark

Hi Steve. I messaged you back in 2014 inquiring about your Clapton Strats. Assuming you are still have them? Do you have any interest in selling any. Always keen to talk and swap pics. As I said, I have an early JW Black Clapton Strat in Gold. Built June 1989 and pre-dates his earliest recorded builds as per his log. Hope you’re well. Maybe email me at markleuthard@yahoo.co.nz to chat. Cheers, Mark.

Hi, What an amazing collection of Fenders, a real pleasure to see, particularly the Jay Blacks. Did you know that J.W. Black has published his notes on the net? I see that you have serial nos. 0163 and 0164. I own five strats but only one masterbuilt which is serial no.0161, a '57 Fiesta Red with gold hardware which was custom built for John Entwistle of "The Who" in 1990 and is pictured in his book "Bass Culture". I'm thinking of parting with this now and was wondering if you had any idea of the value and the best way for me to sell it. Any advice would be much appreciated. My email address is alan.coath@ntlworld.com cheers Alan

Hi. I'm a big fan of Clapton and see you have pics of a nice MB green one. There is a red version out there too also built by Jay. I have a gold Clapton built by Jay in 1989. Are you interested in selling it at all? All the best, Mark.

Hi Steven
Many thanks for your very generous comments. I began collecting the higher end Fenders about ten years ago when I saw a Masterbuilt Clapton Strat for sale in London. After that I just kept looking at the advertisements and the online auctions and gradually built up the numbers. Friends also let me know if they see anything in which I might be interested. If anything I've now got too many but I know of several players who have more than me.
They all get played at some time or other.

Hi Ralph,
Thanks for your comments which are much appreciated. For your information, the neck pickup on KK's Telecaster is a Seymour Duncan Hot Rhythm (STR-2).

It is great to see such fine Fenders on display. I enjoy a nice guitar as much as the next guy, but nothing beats the sound of a nice well built Fender Stratocaster. For a Fifty plus year old design, it looks just as current today as it did then.

Hello Crumblebum,
this is Johnny from Italy. I was born in Montréal (Canada) but I live here in Rome since when I was just 10.
I DO HAVE TO CONGRATULATE You on Your WONDERFUL Strat' collection !!
Could You be interested in selling Your "Teal Green Custom Strat" Masterbuilt by J.W.Black on October 1994 ?
Or, if You prefer, could You be interested in doing a swap with a "White Blonde Custom 1954 Strat" Masterbuilt by J.W.Black on May 1995 ? (serial # JB015. This is why I prefer rosewood fingerboard Strats and anyway I would like to keep a Strat built by Mr Black)
Here is my email address: johnny_marini@hotmail.com
Looking forward to hearing from You, thank You so much indeed for Your kind attention.
Have a nice week !! Best regards,
Johnny
