I wandered back to the crash site today and was in the process of taking a picture of a badly burnt camera lens (that was used for the memorial mural), when this young man walked by and said, "that used to be my camera lens". It turned out to be Casey, the serious burn victim pictured above. Casey, among many other talents, is a photographer, and even had his own darkroom setup in his apartment. He asked me if I wanted to go up and see what was left of his place and of course I accepted. My Jaw fell open when he showed me exactly where he was sitting, (see picture) when the plane hit. Not more that a few feet away from him.
Casey is an extremely bright and caring person. His positive attitude and charisma are inspirational. Casey continues to recover from his burns, and already has many plans for the future with his wife and children. With his talent and positive attitude towards life, the sky’s the limit.
Craig
