Great pictures of the old Glenn Dale Sanitarium, take the time to revisit it.... I don't believe it will be standing much longer, P.G. county is trying to sell the property to a developer. Make sure you check out the underground tunnels.

All of those images are fantastic.
Have you thought about shooting them on hi res digital or film and exhibiting them as 16"X20" black and whites.

The eerie & desperate feelings are in the air -- looking at your photos, I feel as if hearing the poor, helpless children once there crying for help... making my heart sink. Nonetheless, a very great gallery of photos. Vera.

It's true. It would be far more accurate to say that the purpose of TB hospitals, before effective antibiotics, was containment rather than treatment.

I grew up in a town that had a TB hospital. Most people today don't realize how TB was treated in the 50s & 60s. It was our then equivalent of a leper colony.

Wow! Just great stuff. The radiator image is incredibly ominous as are the images around it. You have a lot of very interesting subjects here. I came across your gallery via the random photos and it was well worth it to poke around. Keep it up!
