Thankyou to Celia for the following description of cruise:



Day 1 - Transfer from Dalaman airport to Fethiye. Meet Gulet in Fethiye and sail to Paradise Bay. Overnight here (motoring 40mins/5miles)



Day 2 - Motor to Yesil Koy opposite kalkan, swim & snorkel am and lunchtime motor into Kalkan Harbour. Either look around kalkan or optional trip to Xanthos (ancient Lycian capital city) and Salikent Gorge. Return to Gultt in kalkan. Evening motor to bayinder bay opposite Kas. Impossible to go further east due to bad weather. Overnight here (motor 6.5 hrs/78miles). Unbelievable storm - wrecked fish farm Fish seen making break for freedom ;-))



Day 3 - After breakfast left bayinder bay to sail to Fineke. Hugh waves and very strong wind with boat hardly moving meant alteration to plans! Headed into top end of Kekova Bay, mooring in beautiful narrow bay with Kingfishers. No road access so couldn't go to Arcanda. Evening motor round corner to Ucagiz village. Four people escape to land - Another almighty thunderstorm - Celia convinced lightening struck mast (shes allowed to hallucinate on this trip!) (1.5hrs/18 miles).



Day 4 - Morning. Meet minibus in Ucagiz (wearing bin liners) and drive to Olympos Beach and Cirali Village. Rest stop en route - gorgeous cats and pomegranite juice and gozleme (savory pancake). Go to Chimera first and afternoon visit to Olympos or sit on beach.

Three of us stayed with Gulet, walked on Lycian Way, admired Lycian Tombs, lunched on board and motored accross to Tersane Bay - and the land of the rabbits! Overnight in kekova Bay - more rain and storms! (Two dogs getting friendly??)



Day 5 - No sea kayaking today - weather meant risk of capsize. Morning visit to Kale - crusader castle, Lycian tombs. Ruth swam. Motor over ruins of Kekova 'sunken city'and moor in Tersane Bay, snorkeling, swimming and canoeing. Sunshine, escape rain by motoring to Bayinder bay opposite Kas. Overnight here - calm! (1.5 hrs/18 miles).



Day 6 - Morning spent in Bayinder Bay enjoying the sun and sea. After lnch, motored into kas harbour (2hrs). Loads of time for eating, shopping, drinking, dancing. Leave Kas 0400 - hopefully with everyone aboard! :-) (motoring 6 hrs/72 miles)



Day 7 - AM arrive Gemiler Is, look around ruins and walk to top. Gemiler Island is covered in the ruins of a town dating from the Byzantine era and give good snorkeling around underwater ruins. It is also the birthplace of St Nicholas and is subject to the purveyors of Turkish Pancakes - yum!. Ok so, Father Christmas came from Turkey?....PM motor to Kizilada Is and back accross to Samanli Bay (managed to raise sails en route and sail - NO MOTOR HURRAH!! But someone indicated he wanted to swim....! Steve & Ruth put ashore for walk and photos. Overnight here (motor 4 hrs/12 miles)



Day 8 - Sail into Fethiye harbour AM. 14 people stowaway on board Gulet for cruise west, refusing to go home........:-))

But if we had, we'd have missed the fish market and cafes.......;-))

Hello,
First of all I would like to say sorry for my english. I am from istanbul originally but my father has a summer house in Antalya KAS.
When I saw the turkcell prayer tree I was suprised. It is only 2 minutes from our house and I didnt know that tree was prayer tree :). And I was also excited about seeing someone in the net who has been near our area. The world is realy small :)
Can I use some of your pictures in my website ?

What fantastic shots! You obviously have an eye for a photograph!

We shall send you ours [please don't laugh] you are a difficult act to follow.

Sara & I had a great time with you all in Turkey, everyone mixed so well which made the diference the only downside is that the experience has left us wanting more.

The firewalk was an amazing experience and was sucessfully completed. The final sum of money raised for the Hospice is likely to be in the region of £17,000 so it was a great night of fundraising. Thank you so much for your contribution it was so unexpected and generous. An official photograph is being sent to me so I shall email it to you as proof of job done. I recommend the experience to everyone!
