Without seeing a photo of the moth, the only thing I can think of is the Polyphemus Moth (Antheraea polyphemus). Here are some photos of that species: http://bugguide.net/node/view/427/bgimage Or, maybe you saw a male Io Moth. The antennae of male moths are usually thick with many teeth, sort of like on a comb. I imagine there's some variation in the coloration of these moths, so that might explain a more orange colour. Again, difficult to say without seeing the moth.

Saw a moth today in Hales Corners that looked like an Io, except that its antennae were dark and almost furry looking. Also the top of the moth's wings was a pale orange shading to light yellow. Spectacular! What was it?
