Kingfisher

Mill River irrigation lake

not a very brilliant image by pbase standards, but the first time I have been able to observe one over a period of minutes rather than seconds....now to improve on it

That is quite a trophy. They will fly if they spot you at 50 m distance. Normally you will need a hide. Well done.

The color and clarity are excellent. I always think these are such beautiful birds, and this one is no exception.
