the spire has an alarming lean despite the various works carried out over the centuries to counteract the hubris of its erection & you can see lots of iron stitching as well as plethora of lightening conductors, navigation lights and anemometer. (Is there a contingency plan to evacuate the city when the wind speed rises beyond 100mph???)
