Glenuig has places to stay, good pub and community shop. Local walk to see views of Salalaman Island. Tarmac extends to car park near new houses above Smirisary. Walk down to old Smirisary village, part abandoned, many houses being rebuilt. Where track splits into 3, the left hand one leads on 1/2-3/4 hour walk (boots essential) to idyllic beach.
Another walk from just short of car park to Loch na Bairness. Smirisary hill is really 20 stone outcrops with no paths, but worth battling to on a clear day.
