I know I have garbled the title, but others have garbled the land itself far worse. On a visit to some long lost cousins, they kindly took us for a tour of the 'Christian circuit' knowing I was now Quaker.

At Nazareth I was too appalled to think straight. We went on to the traditional site of the original baptism. There it was OK to paddle, but total immersion meant long white robes and goodness knows what else. So we bravely tried to find holes in the fence northwards along the Sea of Galilee for a swim. But, despite the ever mounting temperature, that defeated us. At the one physically practical place, it even said 'no shorts', but I didn't think that was really what was meant

My wife and daughter,Jamie, are there just now.For Jamie it's a repeat run,whereas Ann is there for the first time.
