Hello,

I was just hiking in Smuggler's Notch in VT and saw the tiniest birds ... 2 inches long, brown bodies and BRIGHT orange head tops. They were chirping up a storm and followed me down the path, even hopping close to my head on branches. I suspect a nest was nearby and they were acting as sentinels. Anyway, I think it was a kind of finch, but I can't find it online anywhere. Any ideas?

Ha Ha! too true. This squirrel perches on a fence near the feeder and takes a flying leap, landing, of course, on the squirrel baffle. I have to admire his/her ingenuity.
