Hi Richard - I see from comments that it was about this time last year that I tried to contact you... I'm an Alabama artist who paints lots of wildlife, often use photos as reference material. I hope you will consider allowing me to purchase the right to use some of your photos as reference for my wildlife paintings. I count on honest, fair relationships with various photographers for my work, happy to pay reasonable fee. Would love to discuss your work. It's beautiful. Please call or email. 205.531.2271 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to hear from you soon - all the best - Sue
my name is Sue Key, I am a wildlife painter. Would you mind if I used some of your photos as reference material for my paintings? please call or email! 205.531.2271 or email@example.com thank you!!
I'm stumped. Please help. I don't keep a life list, but I've identified several dozen over years of hiking and backpacking. We live in a small town about 5 miles from Lake Michigan and 5 miles below the Wisconsin / Illinois border. Mostly prairie, scattered clumps of oak-hickory. Only the last 3 years, in all seasons, I see small groups of a dull, grey, sparrow-sized bird, with one prominent whitish wing bar. No prominent color or marks on breast or head. The body is more slender than a sparrow, more like a Cedar Waxwing. They ONLY go for the thistle seed. Nothing else. What is this bird?? Help!

you have many fine images here. congrats and keep up the good work
Beautiful warbler shots, stunning birds superbly presented. Regards Dave.
Thank you for your wonderful photos of birds. I am a beginning birder, still mostly back yard, but I have already used your photos to ID a Northern Flicker. I'm sure I will be visiting your pages a lot, and hope you don't mind. Your photos are much more helpful than the Audubon book, but the book is limited by size, of course. Anyway. Thanks.

Your photos are absolutely lovely. I live in MN and saw a bird this morning that I had never seen before. Somewhat larger than a robin, mostly brown with black polka dots and an inverted black triangle on it's chest and an inverted red triangle on the back of it's neck. It also had a long delicately pointed beak. It was on the ground under some bushes. Can you help me? Thanks for your sharing your artistry.

My camera and lenses are listed at the bottom of most my photos. All shots are handheld and no flash except the occassional built in flash on the camera. A nice tripod is next on my wish list and then n SB600 flash.
Very good wildlife pictures. Could you include your gear in the description? I am curious how you achieve some of these shots. Anyway, congratulation for your work. Regards, Fred

Thanks for your nice comments...
You ask how I get that little birdy in my stylesheet.
Take a look at it (you can download it via
modify it for your own needs).
This file contains a section
background-position: bottom right;
where the background image points to an image I uploaded to pbase in a private
gallery. It's basically the bird you commented on with the background replaced
by my galleries background color.
Not much to it... Have fun!
Don't worry, no need to get freaked out - we have different middle names! Mine's Glyn not Todd. Love your bird and wildlife photos, very nice indeed.
