August 29 - Neptune's Back

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Neptune's Fountain is a well visited tourist spot in the centre of town.
It must be photographed 100s of times a day, so I thought it was about time I did so too.
Not brave enough to be seen for fear of being mistaken for a tourist, I decided that it had to be done undercover of darkness.

Trouble is that there is a blot of a building behind which is made even worse by harsh spotlights at night - the view from the front is out.
I doubt many tourists have bothered to take a picture of his back.
So for a bit of fun, here is what Neptune squirts at day and night :0)

Nikon D300S ,Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8-4D AF
1/2s f/8.0 at 24.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Interesting shot which reminds us to look beyond the obvious, tricky lighting well handled

an excellent night image - hope the title isn't also meant as a propitiatory tribute the god of the seas
