You know, they didn't build Rome in a day. But we tried to see the fruits of those years of labor in a day, yessiree. I picked up Kara at the airport (with a ridiculous amount of Tom's wine still circulating in me) at about 9.30am as I recall. Then we headed into Termini (the main train station), met up with my friend Ed from Italian class (DLI), and spent a really fun day walking about the city. It was fantastic weather, so I was happy to avoid the interiors of a lot of museums.
