Great and awasome pictures, this sight and all the one's from Blackwater Refuge and the cam sights are just unbeleiveable. I have shared these sights with many of my friends. Thank you for such a great sight.

Betty - That's a great blue heron, very common at Blackwater. I've only seen what I think was a night crowned heron at Blackwater once and it was an immature. It was in October of 2005:

Wonderful pictures. Consider doing a calendar and maybe selling for a fund raiser for this website. I know I would buy a few.

Peggy - The next to last photo is a tree swallow. Hard to get a clear picture, they're so darn fast. I was in the middle of a play session, there was half aa dozen or more zipping by all around me within two feet at times.

The last phot is the backside of an eagle. I was looking to the right and apparently it was sitting in a tree to the left. It dropped out of the tree right in fron of me but I missed the opportunity and only got his rear.

Cathy - That's a red winged blackbird. Very common at Blackwater.
