If I remember correctly, the fourth floor was the mentally i'' that were infected with TB. Death Tunnel nothingmore than a slasher movie.

i would hope this isnt one of the patient rooms b/c the claustraphobia of such small quarters are enough to drive someone insane ..

Ahhh Ms Janette again.. Innoculation is ineffective, hence the 2002 BCG recall in the UK, but I would assume since you are on top of your game that you would already know that. Since T.B. is from asperating contaminated droplets of water, a cough, sneeze, ect, or high humidity ( such as Ky. ), sending them higher up into the humidity was pointless. Yes, consider your mother quite lucky to not have recieved a full blown effects of T.B.. Also others need to show thanks for this place. Without this place being established, or the experiments performed within it's walls - Janette's mum, and many other loved ones, might not have been lucky enough to recieve the proper treatment they can today.

Ms. Murphy, I completely agree with all of your comments. I'm sure this place was no more forboding to incoming patients than a cancer hospital is today. It certainly is sad that such a building, in such beautiful surroundings, is just falling apart. I suppose those who want to be frightened will be, even if they decide a winnie-the-pooh movie is scary. I think this would make a wonderful museaum, maybe about the history and triumphs of medicine.

Would you have the insane ones infected with TB then? Can't understand your reasoning. People were sent into the hills because the air was thought to be more conducive to recovery from the disease. As we all know now, innoculation is the only answer, and still a very necessary one of course. My mother spent two years in a similar establishment in the north of England way back in the 1940's and was very lucky to live - not everyone was incurable and this fact seems to have become lost over the years. There was much suffering, of course, but also hope and recovery as well as despair. It's a lovely old building that deserves careful restoration, not ridicule in trash movies.
