Everyone can say its fake that just means you never been there, I know its real rather anyone wants to believe it or not. It is a nice old place I'm glad its still around.

Hi Susan, I see what your talking about. I've been to the Waverly many time's. It's a beautiful old building. Last year my husband,2 kids and I went there, had lunch on a grassy part and watch the workers. We later found out were at the kid's old playground. We have a picture of our son and he looks like he's shaking hands with someone, but there's no one there.
okkay,as everyone els said.
it's all fake!!
as ms. rachel said below me .. the sadness of what happened overtakes the building, so in my PERSONAL (im capitalizing PERSONAL b/c i dont want my words to offend no one since so many seem to take offense on here) opinion restoring this place would possibly cause people more heartache b/c depending on their stability the sadness could send them into a deep end ..
i believe it is called matrixing. it is when your brain makes you "see" things that isn't really there. I am a paranormal investigator with years of experience and this place is haunted. not the scary ghost roaming all over the place trying to kill you haunted. but the sadness of the place has left its imprint on the building.
The money from the ghost and historical tours offered by the owners, the Mattinglys, is supporting a full-restoration effort of the building. It is a slow process, begun in 2001, and requires thousands of man hours and is expected to cast $45 million dollars in the end. The restoration work already done is astounding...these are pics that are a few years old.
If you think there's really a man's face above the door you deserve to be scared in the night! Starting from left to right, there's an oriental dancer, a girl's face at the top corner of the door, overlapping Bart Simpson wearing biking goggles (the first shaft of light forms his head....)then Your Man, next a reclining Roman lady, finishing up with a map of Africa at the top R-hand corner of the door. Talk about an overactive imagination...This is a marvellous example of repro high-Victorian gothic, at least the main entrance anyway, and should be properly restored instead of ignored by all except those that want to be scared out of their wits.It deserves more than the cheap thrills brigade.
People should be ashamed of what they have done to this grand old building. Building like this should not be used as a trash can, They should be restored and used to help the needed of the counrty when ever possible!!
I don't know if you noticed but at the top of the door you notice what looks like 2 beams of light, the beam closes to the middle of the door looks like a face of a man.
