Call Me Ishmael
Day 73

Adventures of the past few days are over.
Back to the garden I go...

I have been chasing a Tiger Swallowtail for the past few days -- I've spotted him through the window but he's always gone by the time I come charging out the door with my shoes half on and my hat askew.
Call me Ishmael.

Well, be sure you'll know when I've caught him...or else hear from me nevermore.
(Sorry -- I'm in withdrawal from the Renaissance Faire from yesterday. Makes me a tad dramatic. Well, more so than usual.)

Love the title! and the colorful flower, esp the spider webs.

Gorgeous flower, beautifully captured!
I know the feeling of chasing butterflies with
a camera, no shoes, leave the door wide open, lose
the dog...you get the picture. :)

I like the way the petals appear as long waving arms. Great shot.

Cool, you can even see the fine spider webs beneath the flower.

I had the same experience today with a black swallowtail, giant swallowtail and a gulf fritillary....I see them from the house and by the time I grab the camera and get out there they are gone....I bathe everyday...don't know what the problem is. But I think this is great, even the webs behind it are clear.

I like how this flower fills the frame. Beautiful in its clarity.
