Central-China and Northeast-Myanmar.
The following 4 subspecies are being recognized:
Elaphodus cephalophus cephalophus - Southwest-China and Northeast-Myanmar;
Elaphodus cephalophus michianus - Southeast-China;
Elaphodus cephalophus ichangensis - Central-China;
Elaphodus cephalophus forciensus - China (Ohtaishi and Gao).
