Pogoniulus bilineatus leucolaimus - Senegambia to South Sudan, Uganda, Southeast Zaïre and North Angola;
Pogoniulus bilineatus poensis - Highlands of Bioko Island (Gulf of Guinea);
Pogoniulus bilineatus mfumbiri - Extreme Southwest Uganda to East Zaïre, West Tanzania and Zambia;
Pogoniulus bilineatus jacksoni - Highlands of East Uganda, Central Kenya, Rwanda and North Tanzania;
Pogoniulus bilineatus fischeri - Coastal Kenya to Northeast Tanzania, Zanzibar and Mafia Island.
