Tropical East- and Southeast-Africa.
The following 3 subspecies are being recognized:
Graphium porthaon porthaon - Coast of Kenya south to North-Botswana and South Africa;
Graphium porthaon tanganyikae - Kigoma district (Tanzania);
Graphium porthaon mackiei - Kenya and Tanzania.
