Strix aluco biddulphi - Pakistan and Northwest-India;
Strix aluco harmsi - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan;
Strix aluco sanctinicolai - Northeast-Iraq and West-Iran;
Strix aluco siberiae - Ural Mountains to West-Siberia;
Strix aluco sylvatica - Britain, France, Iberia, South-Italy, Greece, West- and Central-Turkey;
Strix aluco wilkonskii - Northeast-Turkey and Northwest-Iran to Turkmenistan.
