Ceyx azureus yamdenae - Romang (East-Lesser Sundas) and Tanimbar (South-Moluccas);
Ceyx azureus lessonii - West-Papuan Islands, West-, South- and East-New Guinea, D'Entrecasteaux Archipelago and Aru Island;
Ceyx azureus ochrogaster - North-New Guinea, islands of Geelvink Bay and Admiralty Islands;
Ceyx azureus ruficollaris - North-Australia;
Ceyx azureus azureus - East- and Southeast-Australia;
Ceyx azureus diemenensis - Tasmania.
