So as you can see, I felt a little need to get a little closer to the edge than Adam.

As an interesting little aside, if you ignore the guy who should stay on the other side of the camera for a moment, and take a look at the canyon, you'll notice an inner gorge running north into the canyon. That's the gorge formed by Bright Angel creek. Not long after this picture was taken, Steve, Adam and I headed over to the Backcountry Office to get a Backcountry Permit. We got a reservation for the Bright Angel Campground (near Phantom Ranch) that lies...you guessed it! right in the inner gorge shown here.

Of course we had no idea at the time, or I might have spent a little more time scoping things out! It's crazy how the world works sometimes!
