Hi there, I googled "Alrita" and imagine my surprise when I saw a picture of the "Alrita". That is my dad's boat. He is a longliner fisherman for halibut. He is in Alaska right now fishing for halibut. He and his partners will be surprised at this photo that you took. Pretty cool to find my dad's boat in photo gallery. Thanks, I'll be sure to show him when he returns home soon. From Willis!!

Christopher,

Congratulations on your 3rd place in the DPR challenge, "Wow." Incredible image of the Denver & Rio Grande loco in winter. First rate, evocative and dynamic.

Chris,
Thank you for visiting my gallery and leaving such a nice comment. I've truly enjoyed browsing through your wonderful images. I particularly enjoyed the trains and the Yellowstone and Grand Teton photographs. Growing up in Montana allowed me to visit Yellowstone often and the Tetons (not quite as often). Your photographs made me want to go back again and capture some of my memories. Thanks again for your kind words. Many blessings on your journey through life. Kim

Hey, Thanks very much for your suggestion regarding http://www.pbase.com/image/56183328 I really appreciate it. I'll make sure to edit my original copy. I really do appreciate the critical comments, I'm tired of only being told "nice shot". I mean, it's nice to know people like the shot but I'm so new to photography that I'd like to get more suggestions like yours. I still don't quite have a patient eye to catch details such as the fingers you spotted, so thanks and feel free to drop by again and critique anything you see. :) Cheers, Kate

Nice photos. Thanks for commenting a lot of your pics with the camera, lens, shooting conditions, and whether or not you sharpened. Helps me learn.

thanks for the vist. I could only think of one thing better than a Berkshire on a cold day, that would be one that didn't have to stop running due to problems.

I'll have to look through your shots sometime looks like you have a few cool ones.

Hello Christopher, Just think if you practice a lot you could be as good as Howard Horwich. Then you can post sarcastic, unhelpfull comments to people who are enjoying their photography. For every gold medal winner their are thousands who also tried. These are the people I like. I do love pretentious *******'s who tell me what makes a good photograph.
Put on every photograph you like. Best wishes.

The Canon is not a 2/14 2/14 and trying to make it one is not good. You have more to think about than the format. the 2/14 is boring and so is the 35mm. Composition, post processing, subject matter is very lacking. A camera, lens or other equipment no matter how good or expensive does not make the photographer. I am sorry, but you should look at a lot of other photos and go to books or museums to see what makes a good photo. Shoot a lot, and do not post out of focus, badly composed, no contrast and boring photos. Make yourself proud of what you see, and photograph, and do it well.
